Install BackTrack on Windows

Today I will show you how to install BackTrack on Windows e.g Window XP, Window 7 etc. with the help of VMware Workstation 8.0. First of all you should know what is BT. It is a Linux operating system and used for security purpose. BackTrack is a Linux-based penetration testing arsenal that aids security professionals in the ability to perform assessments in a purely native environment dedicated to hacking. It is the highest rated and acclaimed Linux security distribution tool.

To install it first of all you need to download and install vmware workstation. vmware is a virtual machine. You can use different operating system with in a operating system with the help of this virtual machine. If you want to know more about vmware and Backtrack then google it.

You can download the text file from below which includes VMware workstation 8.0 download links. Keygen for this software also include into the folder. Download the text file from Here......!


First download all the parts and remain them in a same folder. Extract all parts. After extract alls part one folder will make with the name of "vmware workstation 8.0" . Install it and give key for register, its very simple.

After install vmware workstation then you need to install BT5 VM image file. You can download it from Here........!
It is the torrent file of BT5 VM image file for 32-Bit Windows. After download it. Just open your vmware workstation. Goto "File" menu then goto "Open" tab and open image from location. See the Pic below:

After open it Just power on this virtual machine. It will require login name and password. Default login name is "root" and password is "toor". See the Image below:

After login start it with graphical interface by command "startx".

Now you will see the graphical window of BackTrack5 like this:

Now Just open the Terminal and type this command for update:

>> apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade (Hit Enter)

After update you may also install additional software. For this type this command:
